Slowly moving in...

Well we started moving some stuff over to the rv, it's surreal. I hope to find a good heater soon since the kids are asking to start doing school out there, why not. I like the idea so I can get the school organization figured out because that is one of my biggest concerns. The only thing I will miss is our big trampoline, hopefully we can find somewhere to keep it where we can still use it sometimes.
I will continue to paint and make it a home over the next few weeks. It will be very bittersweet when we leave this house, three of my babies learned to walk here, yet we will be chasing our adventures.

Redecorating has begun.

We after some debating we decided that we needed to redecorate some and make the rv look a little less dated and more like a home. This is huge thing for me as this is my first home. Yes, I have been living in a house for the last few years but it isn't my house. We are grateful to have been able to stay here and it will be hard to leave as three of my babies have learned to walk in this living room, however we are very excited to own something ourselves although very different than what we always thought we would be doing.
First thing was painting the cabinets. I thought white would look good and lighten the space up. Then Dan suggested doing chalkboard paint on the raise part of the kitchen cabinets. I loved this idea so much it was decided to do all the cabinets the same way. Then we wanted a pop of color and the blue border was added. Updated hardware was the next thing because the bright gold handles just didn't look right with the white, two trips to the hardware store and we have new hardware. I think Dan would have agreed to almost anything by the end of the second trip, lol. We also decided on a light blue for the wall color, so we will have a little blue cottage on wheels.
Here are a few photos of the door painting process and some of the cabinet, not done yet but will be sharing more as we get further along. I think this cold spell will have work slowed for the next few days.

We have a name....

So one of the first things we decided on was that we were going to name our new home. However what was this going to be and since big rolling turd was already taken, haha, the debate began. The children have made several suggestions from Bob to Blue but the husband is the one that named it..........The Dream Catcher!!!! We have a dream and we are going to catch it in the rv. I absolutely love it.

Decorating for children

The big question now is decorating. Will we change things or leave them how they are. Currently we have a mess of monsters all over the place and it's really cute however that is not a long term plan. I am sure what I would do if it were just me a nice shabby chic floral decor but with the children I think maybe something a bit bolder. Who knows but open to suggestions. So today I continue to look for inspiration on how to decorate our rolling home.

Our adventure begins.

Hello whoever stumbles across our blog. We are a family of 7 and about to embark on the biggest adventure of our lives, moving into an rv.
First off lets introduce everyone there is Mom and Dad, that would be me and my wonderful husband. Then we have 11 year old Hazelbell, eight year old Daniel, seven year old Annalee, Frederick the two year old and newborn Little T. The answer to the first question is they are happy and excited about this move. We asked them and had them help with as much as possible along the way.
We have an official launch day of May 30 and our first stop already planned. We will be moving and stationary most of the year, meaning we will move around to different area lakes staying in the area for Husband's job. We will get to travel during layoff periods that last anywhere from 2 to 6 weeks and we get at least 2 a year. This is going to be so great because currently we can not take a vacation because of occupancy rules and a family vacation being split into two hotel rooms doesn't sound fun at all. So with this new adventure we can go on vacations and take our home along, we can live at the lake all summer too.
Okay so we bought a 5th wheel, a 98 Prowler. It was a really good deal because of the salvage title, means it has some damage but is structurally sound. It is also why we got such a great deal for 2 slides and 33ft is should have been twice what we paid. I hope to do this with as little debt as possible so we have more money for adventures. We don't have a truck yet so we sort of put the cart before the horse, however now we can make sure we get a horse big enough to pull the cart. We are currently looking for the truck and are just waiting for the right one.
The children are all very excited for this move and are making plans. They will be the ones choosing the destinations when we do get to travel. A few of the possibilities are the beach, MT Rushmore, Yellowstone, Texas. It is going to be a much simpler life with lots of memories to hold onto.
